Clear Waters Aquarium's
Unique Approach to Aquarium Management:

Thirty Years Experience - Aquariums Designed and Installed With Integrity

Clear Waters Aquarium is owned and operated by professional aquarists with more than thirty years of experience in the aquarium industry. We specialize in the installation and maintenance of custom aquariums in the Chicago area and nationally throughout North America.

We offer a complete range of aquarium design and other services. We work with your architect, interior designer, or contractor to prevent problems that are commonly seen with built-in aquariums. We provide the most comprehensive aquarium service program available. The Aquarium Professionals Group is the largest aquarium design and maintenance firm in the Midwest. We currently have hundreds of satisfied clients, and perform more than four hundred maintenance visits a month!

We don’t try to be the cheapest; we strive to be the best! There are many different brands of aquariums and accessories available to use in your new aquarium system. Some equipment and materials are of excellent quality and some are not. The Aquarium Professionals Group never compromises quality to meet or beat a competitor’s price. We use the finest acrylic aquarium tanks, state-of-the-art filtration equipment and the highest quality materials on the market in the systems we design. We provide fine workmanship and excellent services that are second to none! A picture speaks a thousand words. View our portfolio.
Professional Maintenance Services - Second to None
Aquarium service is our business, not a sideline. Because we don’t operate a retail store, we can offer a greater variety of services to our clients. We are never over-booked, understaffed, or too busy to take care of your aquarium when you need us. If you have an emergency, we get to you fast - usually within four to six hours. We have a twenty-four-hour-a-day paging service. We know that when your aquarium is in trouble, you can’t wait for the fish store to be open.

We provide all of our clients with our unique client handbook which describes our policies in detail and is also filled with tips and tricks to make your aquarium successful.

We employ well-trained professional aquarists. Unlike many aquarium maintenance businesses that operate as one-person operations, we have a large professional staff of highly-qualified aquarium technicians with years of experience. New technicians train intensively for three months, regardless of past experience, before they are allowed to work on their own.

Our training program incorporates field work, formal classes, seminars, videos and a series of exams to produce competent aquarists to provide quality service to our clients. Customer satisfaction is our priority. Being the best in the business is our goal. We love what we do and it shows!

We are fully insured. It is surprising how many aquarium maintenance companies, and some aquarium retail stores provide outside aquarium services without proper liability insurance. Regular retail business liability policies may not cover accidents that occur while servicing an aquarium off store premises. Aquarium Professionals Group carries full liability insurance.

We’re an aquarium store on wheels! Our customers never have to go out to purchase aquarium supplies. We supply a full line of acrylic aquariums, state-of-the-art filtration systems, aquarium supplies, staple goods, and fish food at competitive prices.

Unsurpassed Livestock Selection! We import new specimens weekly, and offer a wide selection of healthy, hand-caught saltwater fish and invertebrates. We quarantine all specimens for a minimum of fifteen days before we sell them. We handpick freshwater fish to order.

A supervisor makes periodic quality control visits, free of charge to ensure that your aquarium is being properly maintained. Approximately every twelve weeks, a supervisor will stop by, check the aquarium and all equipment, run water quality tests, and address any concerns or questions you may have with your aquarium.

You can always reach us in an emergency, using our 24/7 paging system. We use a state-of-the-art voice-mail system which can page us in case of an aquarium emergency. We are available 365 days a year for aquarium emergencies. We guarantee a response time of only 4 to 6 hours!
Excellent Guarantees and Friendly Policies
We offer the best guarantees in the business on livestock, service, aquariums, and aquarium equipment! We guarantee all livestock we sell for fourteen days after we introduce it into your aquarium. If you have a problem with your aquarium within 48 hours of a service visit, give us a call and we will fix it for free.  We supplement manufacturer’s warranties on our aquarium equipment, by offering a six month, unconditional guarantee on all equipment we sell and install, including parts and labor. If we sold and installed it, and it fails within six months, we’ll replace it free of charge-no questions asked!

We provide free loaner equipment if any critical piece of aquarium equipment fails and must be sent out for repair. If your air pump, water pump, filter, or chiller on your aquarium fails and can be repaired, we’ll provide a free loaner until your original can be reinstalled.

We supply all necessary maintenance equipment, algae pads, gravel washers, and water changing equipment. Some companies make you purchase the tools they need to clean your aquarium. We bring our own tools and save you money.

We provide complete written feeding and care instruction so you can care for your fish properly in-between service visits. We also provide free, personalized feeding instruction so you don’t over-feed your aquarium. Our clients receive a copy of our unique, thirty-two page client handbook describing our rates and policies in detail. We custom-tailor your aquarium maintenance program to fit your lifestyle and schedule.

The Clear Waters Catastrophe Policy: We maintain most of the aquariums that we service on a monthly or bimonthly basis. Aquarium problems sometimes develop in-between service visits, and go unnoticed until it’s too late. Power failures, inadvertent contamination, and equipment malfunction are just a few examples of why aquariums sometimes fail. If disaster strikes, we’ll obtain replacement livestock for you at our cost, then deliver and acclimate them at a discounted labor rate. You pay only our expenses. "We will not profit from your misfortune."
